Another obvious addition to the list. Half-Life is an extremely important game! The sequels are great, but Half-Life is where it all began. It showed us that a shooter can be more than, "Get from point A to B, killing everything in your path." It can have a story. It can have depth. It's in many ways the father of modern shooters.
I'm planning on writing up a longer report on Spec Ops: The Line. That's the game that inspired me to start this list. There are so many things about it that I think should be used much more often in games. I don't know when I'll get around to that, but it's coming eventually.
Now for something non-game related! I'm finally on Twitter. If you're interested, my handle is BRothfusz. Creative, eh? It'd be Rothulfossil, but I had that as my handle before and deleted the account, so they won't let me use it again.
I'm on Twitter now because I quit reddit. What's the connection there? Well, I realized I've been spending way too much time on reddit lately and I'm not getting anything out of it. So many aspects of it irritate the hell out of me (I might go more into this later) yet I just kept coming back. So I unsubscribed from everything but /r/Sooners, since I still have my duty as a moderator there. With so much extra free time now, I actually wasn't sure what to do with it. I decided joining Twitter would help me ease into the sudden lack of things to do on my computer.
Even with Twitter, I'm still finding that I have a ton more free time. And the great thing is, I'm using this other free time to be productive. I'm not sure how entirely productive blogging is, but I'm doing a lot more of that. I'd probably be on reddit right now instead of writing this if I hadn't given up on it. I'm also using my time to study which is helping oh so much in class. The GPA should start climbing this semester!
That's all I've got for now. Valete.
